Jane Austen at 250 - Mid-Week Recital to stream tomorrow!

Tune in tomorrow at 12:10pm Pacific Time as Victoria Kirsch and Meagan celebrate Jane Austen's upcoming 250th birthday in their recital for First United Methodist Church, Santa Monica's Mid-Week Recital series. The program combines selected Lieder by Franz Schubert on themes relevant to Austen's works, solo piano arrangements of musical themes from beloved film and TV adaptations of Austen's novels, and two songs from Marianne Dashwood: Songs of Love and Misery, an evocative song cycle by Aferdian and Marella Martin Koch. Meagan commissioned the cycle and premiered it on her master's recital at UCLA in 2016, and Marella and Aferdian ended up authoring two additional cycles based on Sense and Sensibility in subsequent years. The recital recording will also be available to watch later if you can't watch at the scheduled stream time.
