Debut with Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra

Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra, under the baton of KuanFen Liu, presented a concert version of Carmen on Sunday, and Meagan was grateful for the chance to debut with them in the role of Mercédès. What a treat to reunite with two of her wonderful colleagues from her graduate studies at UCLA for the event as well: baritone Ben Lowe, who was portraying Escamillo, and soprano Jennie Olivia, who was Meagan’s partner in crime as Frasquita. Meagan also had the unexpected opportunity to sing alongside her very first classical voice teacher, contralto Louise Lofquist, who stepped in last-minute to sing the title role when the originally planned Carmen had to withdraw due to illness. Brava Louise!
